The Local, Sunset Blvd, Silverlake, Los Angeles

9-9 (1 of 1)I had walked by The Local on Sunset Blvd in Silverlake a few times and liked what I saw in the outdoor seating area and atmosphere, so we decided to check out brunch this past Saturday morning with our friend Mark.

Ordering at the counter, we selected a variety of dishes. I chose the frenchie crepe with a side of seasoned fries and a bottomless iced tea, which hit the spot in the already stifling morning heat. Kevin on the other hand, being a fan of burger type meals, opted for the sloppy joe, which turned out to be very good, full of flavor and served on a unique yellowish bun. Meanwhile, Mark found that he hadn’t gone wrong with his choice of a classic bacon and egg platter with fruit and a lemonade.

Overall the food was pleasant, tasty and was served up in a timely and friendly manner, while the busy outdoor patio proved to be an interesting space to watch both the characters coming and going on Sunset as well as the other patrons of all stripes on the patio itself.

The Local is a place we plan to hit up again in the future, perhaps for dinner next time.
