Griffith Park, that jewel of nature in the middle of Los Angeles provides much-needed relief from the hectic day-to-day of the city. Living just below it, I am fortunate to be able to now walk to my trail, something which I take advantage of three to four times a week.
The fifty-five miles of trail provide numerous opportunities. It is customary for me to see deer, rattle snakes, the occasional coyote and of course the ubiquitous squirrels, rabbits and numerous birds. The vistas of the city, both over the LA basin as well as Glendale, Burbank and The Valley are exceptional and give one a good sense of the layout of the land.
