CicLAvia Los Angeles

cic1 (1 of 1)On Sunday April 6th Los Angeles held CicLAvia, which it does a few times a year in various areas. The event opens up a major street to cyclists and pedestrians for a day to celebrate open spaces, promote biking and bring people together.  Thousands of people come out to cycle, walk, jog, skateboard and have fun. Along the way many restaurants and local business set up booths and hand out free stuff. To add to the festivities are food trucks, people dressed in costumes and funky, decked out bikes of all kinds.

      1. I guess American drivers wouldn’t be too pleased about road closings once a week but in Bogota it’s a really nice way to exercise, see the city, and get a sense of your fellow city dwellers. But in a place like Bogota people are used to inconvenience, so shutting two major roads down is more feasible than it would be here.
