Rocky Mountain National Park in winter

Rocky Mountain National Park is worth a visit anytime of the year, but winter highlights the beauty even more so. The park offers snow capped peaks, frozen alpine lakes and fantastic cross country skiing and snowshoeing while viewing the wildlife such as elk or bighorn sheep. We feel fortunate to have RMNP as ‘our’ local park and usually visit twice a month to try out various trails and breathe the fresh mountain air.

  1. Rocky Mountain NP was the first national park I visited, when I was 6 and lived 1000 miles away. Now I live 2 hours away and try to visit at least once a year.

    1. It was my first too and I lived nearly as far away too! Now, we live in Fort Collins and being near a national park was one of the reasons we made the move!
