Lake Agnes, CO

Lake Agnes in Colorado State Forest State Park near Cameron Pass is a very short 0.8 mile, but quite steep hike, which presents some challenges, especially when hiked while still covered with snow. Although we hiked the trail in early June, at such elevations above 10,000 feet, snow often persists into July, sometimes in drifts or packs of several feet.

To access Lake Agnes, head up CR14 for 70 miles to Cameron Pass and park in the small lot just off the highway signed ‘Lake Agnes’. This is within the state park, so a small fee is payable at the self-service kiosk or a pass can be purchased down the road at the Moose Visitor Center.
